I would also say it sets you up with the highest stakes of the three, although some might disagree. It's also easy to navigate through later on if you are looking for specific outcomes. Hence your choices have very visible consequences. It is the most mutable story with whole conditional, playable scenes. Other than that it's strengths are in replayability. Like someone already said, it's designed for two and it really shows in the quality of the Shared Story but it doesn't really hurt the single player experience either. For good or ill, it has an abundance of jump scares. However, it's easy to get into their heads and feel what they are feeling and there are set ups for easy drama and tragedy. It has a very approachable cast of average people, which to some translates as boring. If you are only interested in the first playthough, it may turn out a little bland. I think it really depends on what you are looking for in a Dark Pictures game.

(Just remember to mute and not spoil each other's sides lol) In my opinion, only Little Hope wasn't as interesting to me, because of the story, and the ending was a disappointment for a lot of people.Īnd as I said before, if you can play Shared Story, you MUST play it. In my opinion, Man of Medan is my second favorite after HoA as it has so many strategically placed good jumpscares AND some great Act 2 scenes. So yeah, play it for the journey, not the destination. Some of them are very creative, like the Conrad ones, and some of the Brad scenes are pretty good (one of my favorite scenes is with Brad, spoiler -> the looping hallway scene was SO GOOD ) Trust me, the scenes in Act 2 are some of my favorite horror scenes. Maybe dont expect too much from the ending, cause it's a pretty straightforward story with no "twist" as such, and that was the main reason people did not like it cause they were expecting a great twist like Until Dawn.īUT play the game for the journey. I say, play it for yourself, don't listen to the hate. It has the MOST satisfying 2 player mode. ESPECIALLY (in all caps for a reason), if you have a friend who also wants to play with you.
